Guys I was wondering what you thought about using static labels on customers cars with their permission.I currently give my customer a nice pen and magnet with my info on it but I think the static stickers on the drivers side down at the bottom would keep you on their mind.I have got some quotes and they are pretty proud of them.

I use window stickers up were the oil stickers go 1X3" I think clear with light blue lettering.

It works. I had a customer that had a window sticker in the top left, He got hit and was in another state coming home and called to say when he will be back. We lined up the time and did the job while it was fresh in his mind..

I put them in most every vehicle and some of the time do not tell the customer. The next time I do a just they say they remembered it was there.

Carglass (Belron company like Safelite) does this on a large scale, and for many years.
They apply the (aprox 1''x3'') stickers on the SIDE windows, so that the advertisement can be easily seen by others in traffic.
I hate this, why would I be driving around with their silly **** on my car?
I have never understood why people are so dumb to allow Carglass (and others) to use their car for promotional reasons -as if it is a free opportunity for promotional stuff. NOT

It would not surprise me at all if Safelite is going to do something similar in the near future.

I agree, I don't care to advertise for other companies, but look around at the people walking down your street or look as close as your kid's closet. Almost everything from caps to shoes have the manufacturures name blasted all over them. They have just paid to advertise for the company they just made a purchase from. If it works for them...............?

ghost rider, I see what you're saying. But it is not my cup of tea, I typically do not like to walk around with stuff that carries brand names in a dominant way.
It is clever and slick marketing though -and it appears to be a part of today's way of doing business. But again: do not expect my help, I do not support it.

Hmmm--I don't like to advertise for others either. Several years ago I had ordered a brand new vehicle. The dealer called me whenit arrived and I went down to get it. After I had issued a check as payment in full, I went outside to find one or the employees with a drill in hand along with a metal tag bearing the dealership's name. I asked what he was doing and he told me that he was going to put the tag on the rear of my vehicle. I aske the salesman how much they were going to pay me for advertising. He said nothing...we put them on all the vehicles that we sell. NOT Mine I said. Let's go back inside and you can return my check! This was one vehicle was not drilled nor labelled...

I dont see this as advertising but a remider of who did the last repair.I think Frank misunderstood what i was trying to do.I ended up getting 250 for 38 dollars,real bargain.If any of you are interested pm and I will give u the website.These are the exact same size as the ones oil changes use.

I always try to treat other people's car like I would want them to treat mine. If I went to a shop or an individual for a service of some sort and they put a sticker or label on my car I would either ask them to remove it or remove it myself.

Most of my customers keep my number in their cell for future use.

I've also been giving customers my card and a pen with our shop info printed on it. I like the idea of using static labels and I'm interested in giving it a try. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive source? I've checked on line and so far I've only come up with prices that average 0.47 per label for an order of 500 labels. That seems costly to me.

t4k I am sure that not all your customers have your # in their cell phone because w/s repair is not a priority to a lot of people.I also stated in my first post that I would ask the customer befor putting this in their w/s.I also do pens and card but those are not a for sure thing.Everbody has to find their on way.In marketing the more times you can put your company name in front of them the more likely they will remeber you a year later.I also send a thank you letter after I do the repair.
