Calling All Delta Kits Users

Post by SGT »

If you have had thoughts about competing in the windshield repair olympics, now is the time to start considering this event for the up coming year. It comes up very quick and early preparation is a must to do well.

Some of you may want to but cant for what ever reason and some wont even bother for various reasons but would be able to. Either way competing is just not everybody's cup of tea.

So why compete?

Well it is not for the fame becuase outside our industry and to some degree even inside our industry nobody will ever now unless you tell them. If you are going for the money, you will not be able to retire for sure but if you place the prize money will cover some or all of you trip at least. It is likey that if they (NWRA/Sponsors) sweeten the jackpot more people would compete. That may happen we will have to to see.

For me, I am competitive by nature, I enjoy WSR and am a highly skilled WSR tech. so it was a good match. That is what got me there and sure it was nice to place well and get the money and another item I have to dust off but there is more to be had than placing that every competitor gets for entering. A chance to meet and network with other techs, industry professionals etc... That may be worth more than you know. I still keep in touch with some of the competitors and share ideas. There is a bond between techs regardless of equip. but I have noticed the franchise companies that have multiple techs enter each year have high level of comradory with each other due to the common bond they share.

So I want to see if we can get a few Delta Kits Techs to enter this years WRO and dominate the competition with the worlds best WSR tooling and supplies. Is anyone up for the challange?

Good post!
I do understand what you are talking about, and gave it some thought, but just can't see any benefit in this.
Sure, the franchise guys have that one advantage (they really have more but let's not discuss that here), I would say: good for them.
But I do not feel that the formation of any customer groups, or user groups, will benefit this event.

It is a great event and it should not be ending in a ''system abc'' versus ''system xyz'' event.
To me, that stinks, it is too commercial.
It already is, to some extend, silly and painfull to see how some suppliers abuse this fine event.
I would rather leave it as open as it is.

As I strive to help anyone in this business with improving their ability to make a living in WSR, I protest you're using this platform to attempt to promote Delta Kits over other equipment in regards to the WSR olympics. Regarding your obvious relationship with Delta, this is an inappropriate use of the forum.

I disagree, I think that it’s good to advocate for other technicians to get involved with the WRO regardless of their equipment provider. SGT is correct that this is a time to network with other technicians and industry professionals. At this current time the WRO is the largest platform for windshield repair technicians to show others what they do and by doing so they are helping the industry gain more notoriety. I see nothing wrong with a person believing in their equipment and having the confidence that they can dominate the competition. I wouldn’t make a purchase from any company that didn’t feel like they had the best equipment on the market. I am quite sure that every windshield manufacture believes that they sell the world’s best equipment and I would hope that majority of the windshield repair technicians out there feel like they are the world’s best.

d2d,

I think you misunderstood the intent of this post. I respect your right to protest as well and I get no special exceptions here so if the mods feel I was out of forum guidlines then they will remove it. Just what do you think my relationship with DK is? Let me answer that and I will be very clear...

"I am a very small, part time, independant business owner who works very hard to be sucessfull at everything I do. I freely elect to use the equipment and supplies I use. I am under no obligations to anyone"

I think a lot of people feel as if I am a big corp company or something. Trust me I am not. I am just like some of you, damn good at what I do.

To be clear I was not trying to create company vs company scenario or promote a company. I just thought that since I am a DK user fellow DK users would have great time together sharing tips and ideas in person at competition setting. I have already shown that this brand is the best on my own (I can say that for the rest of this year). I will do my best to finish very well again this year as well.

I hope that clears things up. I appologize if other equipment users were offended. If you want to compete with your brands thats terrific. All you have to do is step up to the plate or chips in this case! The more the merrier.

This is the part I most object to, "dominate" is what's clearly inappropriate here and "world's best" is purely an opinion and totally subjective.

I request this entire thread be removed

I just think it would be cool to see more independent/non franchise operations in the competition regardless of what equipment they are using. BTW, does anybody have info on what dates the competition is this year or a link to a website?

I take it for granted that all comments and posts on this forum represent the personal opinions of the members writing them. What's inappropriate about a member stating his/her opinion regarding Delta Kits and the WSR Olympics? Its a personal opinion and shouldn't be taken any other way. After all, this is a DELTA KITS Forum and although the moderators do their bests to keep things neutral, you'd have to assume that there are a good many of us who are Delta Kits equipment users and supporters. Why shouldn't we be allowed to so say so? If you feel otherwise, go ahead and say so yourself just don't try to have our opinions replaced by yours or removed.
