I am getting back into the WR biz after doing 4 years in the Army. Been away for over 10 from the biz. Things have changed. I have two different types of injectors. One which is what I am used to using is the old screw type injector. The other is a plunger/piston type from Delta with the O ring that slides up and down and has the wing type screw at the top to hold the piston in place.
My question is this. I load my resin at the top with the screw type injector and at the bottom of the other kind. This second kind is very awkward to me but I like that I can create an instant vacuum when I pull it up to evacuate the air. What I don't like about it is I would have to completely remove my bridge and injector to add more resin if needed.
Does anyone have any advice? Thanx a million to those that reply.

Get a new DK injector.

I like the bottom load the one I use if (LR) if you need to add more resin you just unsrew the top piece which is essentialy the same as unscrewing the piston in the top load. I find with the bottom feed I use about a1/3 the resin I did when I used the top loader and when finished unused resin pulls into the injector and doesnt get wasted and run down the windshield when you remove the injector. I like the vac and good pressure I get without the too much head presure you get from some others. Like Cars everyone has a favorite and whats good for one the other may not like good luck

Thats the injector that I have.
Let me get this straight. I bottom load my injector. My resin won't fall out. I place the bridge assembly with injector on the glass and level everything out. I pull a vacuum on the chip and let it sit for a little while evacuating the air from the fracture. Then I apply pressure to the resin injecting it into the break. Repeat these steps until I have a clear of a repair as possible. The magic statement is that I can top load resin if I need more to do the job.
Of course there are other techniques that are used during this process. BTW are people still using a lighter to apply heat to the inside of the glass when a star chip is being difficult and some of the radial cracks don't want to fill in? Sorry, just a side question.

You do not bottom load the Delta injector, is there no way you can get in for training as I feel it would be a good idea. If you do decide to use heat as some guys do be sure to allow 15 to 20 minutes for everything to cool down again, or use the heat sink tool. We have found in tests that we can heat a star until the legs disappear and 30 minutes they have still not opened up again, so you may be thinking they are full when in fact the expansion of the glass has just shut them up temporarily.
