The Canuck Needs Help!

With regard to the title of this post, my wife suggests that she has known this for some time!

Ok. I've been on the internet way too much and so I thought to h--l with it. I'm just gonna ask you guys. Being in BC Canada poses a variety of challenges. The biggest is that our provincial public insurance company does not cover repairs, and they sell 85% of our glass coverage. My problem, is that I can't for the life of me find out which companies (likely all US based) except for Canadian Direct, sell glass coverage in BC. I also can't find out which of the aforementioned companies will pay for chip/crack repair.

Why do I want to know this? Because in an effort to determine how I can best attract customers, I need to determine whether it is worth advertising that I will do privately purchased glass repair insurance claims. Pretty tough when you haven't a clue who operates here and whether thay pay for repairs.

Any fellow Canucks out there who have a clue? Anyone else.....please? :)

Can I suggest that you send time looking for customers that have no glass cover, trucks, buses, fleets etc, this will bring you in a more reliable source of income on a weekly basis. Retail customers are generally more expensive to service in my opinion.

Of course you are right Screeman. With only 15% of the market, to focus on our private insurance market here in BC would be crazy. Why I do want to find out the information is merely so I can contemplate adding the service. I expect that I may only see less than one percent of my business from them, but to be able to offer my customers the service would be a bonus for them, and as most of the Windshield Replacement shops deal with them, I would like to be able to start on an even keel with those guys.

Also, and to a lesser extent, there is the psychological perspective. Customers (or potentials) that see a 'full' service business (whether they need it or not) also see a business that is serious and stable.
