One of the issues I find at many trucking companies is that when I offer the first windshield repair at $55 and then any additional windshields on the lot while I am there wod be only $10. They tell me that for $55 they can have a whole windshield replaced (split windshield) for the same price.

You are totally hurting our profession at $10, and $55 for the first repair, too high in Metro Atlanta! Maybe retail. Don't give it away! Find other customers.

If they really can get a windshield fitted for $55 which I would be suprised then you could maybe sell them on the green issue. Personally I would not spend too much time concentrating on low value glass, I would look for the high value one's.

As for $55 that I feel is a realistic price, however $10 surely that is for repairs on the same windshield not on another truck, please tell me I am correct.

It is often a very simple or in some cases the only negotiating tool an unskilled buyer has to say I can get it cheaper, I have often been told we have a guy who does repairs for £15 funny thing is I have never met or seen this guy and neither has anybody else.

Price is not the only reason to buy a product or service, write a list of reasons to use WSR and remember it, this will help you overcome and sales objections.

I will start and I hope other will join in.

1. Green issue, windshields are not easily recycled.
2. Safety, a cars windshield makes up a good deal of structural strength, a badly fitted one will compromise this.
3. A badly fitted windshield will not hold the airbag back.
4. A badly fitted windshield will let water in.

And the list goes on.

Thanks Screenman, The Green issue is serious, but, gets a laugh anytime I bring it up.

That might be the case over there, over here it is an issue. Stop being so negative, I see you did not mention the other reasons or even post one of your own.
