I previously assumed all razor blades where similar in quality for scrapping pit resin but just recently ran into another tech that buys his from an arts and craft supplier. He told me the price was a little higher but the finished polishing results came out better because of the higher quality of the blades.

Anybody care to share what blade works best for you? Thanks

I buy mine at Orchard Supply.
About $8 for 100. Made in USA.
I tried some cheap chinese blades, but they are not as sharp.

I use Delta blades and change them often, I think this is the trick to a nice pit.

Delta manufactures their own blades??

Not got a clue, it is just the place I buy them from. I trust them to have sourced a quality product.

I was not going to respond to this one because I have tried for years to convince technicians that there is a big difference in the quality of razor blades. Some get it and some don't. I get tired of trying to convince those who walk around with blindfolds on that there is a difference between cheap and cost effective. Delta Kits does not currently manufacture the blades we sell but we do buy in a high enough volume that we can stay competitive with other companies offering USA made blades of a similar quality. Not only do quality blades hold an edge longer, but they are also far less likely to break, which can cause serious injury. Wherever you buy your razor blades, I agree that buying a quality blade is worth an extra couple of cents.

I ran into a situation back in the summer where I ran out of "Blades". I had no other choice but to stop at a local Automotive Parts store and grab a box of them. (Of Course Later I Did Order A New Box from Delta) I used just one and was very dissapointed. It wasn't as sharp, didn't flow as good and took a longer time to remove the cured resin to be flush to the glass.

yea this topic reminds me of 4-5 years ago, there was a lot of talk on this subject.
what i have found out that since i'm using the new delta kits resin it seems a bit harder to srcape.
before this not a problem, not that it is now either. anyone concer. i have been using blades from lowes.
