Insurance referral "rotation"

Say you have a repeat customer. They call the insurance company first when they get new damage. The insurance company ask's if they have a shop in mind and they say your companies name. Do you think the networks count this as a referral from them and drop you to the bottom of the rotation again? My guess is yes it does. I guess I need to start telling my customers to be sure and call me first and we can call the insurance company when I get there.

When it comes to the Networks, they operate on their terms, whether it be a rotation or whatever. I can say this though, there are days that I will get 3 to 7 calls back-to-back, then there are weeks that I only get 3 or so repairs. So, unpredictable....thats the networks nickname, "Unpredictable".
I remember when I 1st started in 2006 with the networks, 99% of my Ins jobs coming in were Allstate, then the next year it was a mix of Allstate and State Farm, and 2009 & 2010 have been mostly Statefarm.
The only time I get a call from another carrier, it's when the Customer was referred there either by me or a previous Customer told them about me and so on...
I get maybe 4 or 5 calls a month from SGC (not counting the referrals), and they're asking if I will go out to an area thats usually 100+ miles away, one way!
Or they will ask me for a Replacement and thats usually only on Sundays, why? well because NOBODY else is open on Sundays.....but I don't do Replacements anymore....so they're usually screwed.
So, the networks are a joke, so I sit back and laugh

...and deal with the BS...

Another problem is that repair only is in the same rotation with replacement so if you are on top of the list and someone calls in for a replacement, they will go past your name to get to a replacement co. and you get passed down to the bottom of the list again. Luck of the draw. The Alliance network contacted me about 8 or 9 years ago to join their network because they had soooooo many referrals to send to me. After no referrals and many calls to find out why, I finally talked to someone who probably said something he wasn't supposed to, He said " We don't refer work to repair only companies". Gee thanks for asking me to sign up. Now that Belron/Safelite bought them maybe it will change? It can't get any worse.

I never get referrals from Lynx, been approved for almost a year. once in a while harmon will call. But any insurance work that I get thru any of them I hustle up myself. I figure that is just the way it is going to be
