The eight number from the right also tells you the year.

I downloaded this app and used it today for the first time to collect the VIN number and make/model info. Cool app! -works perfectly and makes copying the vin number simple in any light or tight space.

I'm confused. Eight digits from the right and ten digits from the left in the example is "T". What year does this letter represent? Oh, wait. I just noticed the "made in japan" designation. Does "T" signify the year in Japanese?

Cheers;

Give this a shot.... As they go through the numbers then they switch to letters and you need to look at the corispondence leter... I use to have a cheet sheet taped to my invoice holder the back in the 90's.
