Are you referring to applying a clear coat with an airbrush?

I haven't tried that option. No need to when you can apply a top coat with a paper towel.

An airbrush typically has a small fan and usually shoots more of an oval pattern. Wrong tool for the job in my opinion. I use a Sata Minijet with a 1.0 SR set-up that works very well for headlights.

why apply a top coat, if you are professionaly restoring headlights you can restore back to very much like new and finish with a polish

Does the polish offer any long time protection? I doubt it does but hopefully I will be wrong. The airbrush would certainly not be much use for headlight spraying, where as I can certainly see the Sata doing the job well, that said plenty of guys making a nice job it seems by wiping on.
