Invoices with Quikbooks
Is anyone fluid with QUICKBOOKS? I use this program, then print to convert to .PDF so i can email customer. I am not sure how to make it so if the customer uses (net 15) for example, it prints a discounted price vs. the regular price or prints the discounted price XX in a location and after such date its this amount in a different location. Maybe its not possible, not sure.

Re: Invoices with Quikbooks
My wife has a tax office in our home and she uses quick books . Iam getting a new laptop in a few weeks to replace my tower and monitor. I dont use QB for my business at the moment. I keep my stuff simple. I keep a monthly sheet on income and one on expenses. I total the sheets at the end of the year and that is what my wife uses for our taxes. Both our business are sole proprietor I am going to load QBs onto my new computer and see if thats easier than what iam doing now. My wife taught the QB course, Tax and Bookkeeping at the local college for several years. Forward me your questions and I will get her response. PM me. Candyman I also plan to add the new 4g phone/Iphone and apps for WSR. I hate learning how to use this new high tech stuff. Everyone tells me after a few weeks, it becomes second nature to use. I just put away my 1960"s type writer. Cant get parts or repair anymore without paying an arm & leg. Have a good day.

Re: Invoices with Quikbooks
Basically, if you choose for example the normal NET 30 from the drop down menu it comes out the normal price but say i choose a NET 15 from the drop down menu so they can get like a small % discount, is there a way that quickbooks can change the prices to reflect the TOTAL...Ok candyman, i will send you a invoice for an example to show your wife

Not 100% sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish but I'll give you a couple of things to consider. You can set up special pricing for customers who are on a Net15 account but then if they are late on their payment you have to to add an additional charge which your customers are not going to like. They will also show up as past due after only 15 days which is never a popular option.
I better way is to include a note on your invoice that tells customers they will receive a x% discount for early payment. You can set this up in the body of the invoice or as a message at the bottom. Since you mentioned 15 days we'll go with that and we'll use a 2% discount for this example. If your customer pays within 15 days they you can apply the 2% credit in the "receive payments" screen. The invoice will then show paid in full. If the customer does not pay in 15 days they will have to pay the full price.
This is not 100% automated but it is very simple. You have to receive the payment anyway so it's only one or two extra clicks from that screen to apply the discount/credit.
For on the spot payments use a sales receipt. You can then setup up a discount for paying cash that adjusts the total any time you want it or you can set up all cash customers at a discounted rate. Discounts and credits can be set up as $ amounts or percentages.
QB help is actually pretty good so I recommend searching "discounts and credits" for details. Intuit forums are also pretty helpful at times.

Thanks Brent,
I am slowly figuring this out here. Quickbooks really is a neat prog. Once i get all the business side office lingo and things down, it will be very handy and useful. Many things to learn though from now till then.
Thanks,
Daniel
