Re: LONG CRACK
As the crack fills with resin we recommend covering it with curing tape to keep resin in and air out. Therefore, pit resin isn't needed.

Re: LONG CRACK
I will have to try that way. I did a long crack (18 inches) one time. It was an old huntin truck and the guy didnt want to pay for a replacement. Anyway lol.... I applied pit resin and tape down the whole length while it was filling. It turned out GREAT! It was my first real long crack and I was very pleased. The downside was I used alot of pit resin and it was alot to scrape. So if I could do it without using so much pit resin and having to time time to scrape so mich then that would really be cool!Kgobin wrote:As the crack fills with resin we recommend covering it with curing tape to keep resin in and air out. Is there an impact point?
If not I think it can be repaired by drilling in the center of the crescent where the air space is the widest. My concern is there seems to be quite a few surface chips that will allow resin to flow come to the surface. If that happens I would cover the surface of the entire damage with curing film to minimize pressure loss.
The result should be complete filling with no more visible air, but the lines and all of the places where there are surface chips will still be visible so it is important to set proper expectations. With damage like this the improvement should be drastic and almost always amazes the customer, but will always be quite visible.

Re: LONG CRACK
Take the time to read the post before this one and you will see there is a lot of discussion on this style break.

Re: LONG CRACK
Yep. This one is more typical of what I see... looks just like the one I did Monday. The one in the other thread is a little more extreme with a lot of chipped glass along the crack and looks to be larger than "normal"
