We all know the "big two" networks, but what about others?

I found an old post asking about Teleglass National Corp. but there was no response. I just ran across another... Alliance Claims Solutions.

I know there are some, but I don't know how many there are or who they are, as I don't do much insurance work, and I have been bypassing the networks for the most part anyway.

Has anyone worked with Alliance Claims Solutions? I got a letter last month from Farm Bureau saying they are now using Alliance, and asking to get signed up with them. I don't know what other insurance companies use Alliance. It's sounds much smaller and different than lynx and sl.

Never heard of them. In Texas farm buerau is handles by Lynx. I do lots off repairs for them.

So really, it's rare to find a network other than lynx and safelite?

I guess Glasscomp or Act would be the ones to ask. Thanks.

Well you have Harmon, Trans-America Glass Network and Globe those are the others, not nearly the size of Safelite or Lynx though. I don't know of any others then them. Sorry couldn't help more.

Thanks. I should have known about Harmon. I think I have done a job for them, but it's been a long time.

The one little thing everyone forgets the Insurance Companies change networks more often than you would think.

If that is the case, it throws another spin on the "objective" network concept into a different direction.

Might even refer back to someone's earlier post concerning a suck-in concerning $9.95 repairs.

I think that might have been Brian at Repair1. I seem to recall a picture in that regard as proof although it didn't identify the baiting fisherman who originated the obvious attempt to capture an unsuspecting trout.

But, yes, forum glassdoctor. There are other small networks existent other than the BIG TWO.

Some of them actually are objective as to their intent.

I simplify the matter by verifying coverage and billing accordingly.

There are at least ten different ways to bill an insurance company, I'll post the alternatives and hopefully absorb possible others from other techs and maybe learn some new ways in the process.

I sure wouldn't join expecting any referrals.

But I guess I am going to join help make an easy sale. It's a hassle for the customer right now, and a waste of my time. It takes longer to get off the phone with the network than it does to fix the damn chip.

So, I see my options:

1. Join the networks and play along.
2. Just do the job and send it in without even calling, and take the risk of getting stiffed occasionally.
3. Collect up front and let the customer deal with their agent if they wish.

#3 is not going to get much work b-to-b. #2 no hassle, no wasted time up front, but will be some hassle to track payments. #1 looks the best to the customer... can use EDI services, etc


Oh, do you think a lot of techs are set up with ALL networks in their area? Any of you guys?

O.T. I will be working on changing my name hopefully pretty soon. "Glassdoctor" has been my little pet for 12 years... it's pretty well saturated in my life. It's on envelopes, labels, work equipment, clothing, note pads, etc plus all the usual business and tax forms... plus I use it all over the internet for user names, etc... all the wsr suppliers, etc that I have dealt with. It's going to become a dirty word around my house when I get done with it.

Amica Insurance are one of there Insurance Companys .I am on there vendor list but with no calls from them ,because I live in Boston .approx rate for repair at least $50.00 .I can get you there phone # tomorrow if you would like.? ---the big welsman
