Rookie Mistake Question

I was right in the middle of servicing one of my car lots last week, when I ran out of pit filler.
I thought I had more on hand than I obviously did, and my new shipment of filler & polish isn't due in until tomorrow.
I went ahead and did all the repairs w/o using filler, and hated the look. My stomach turned, especially if it was a chip I had to drill. I told the mgr what happened, and that I'd be back Tues to fill and polish when my order arrived. Luckily he was good with that.
My question is....since I've already repaired the chips, will I have a problem going back to use filler and polish?
I've never not used it immediately after doing the repair, and therefore don't know if it makes a difference that I'm going back a few days later.
Thanks for any help or advice!

No big thing.Just fill with regular resin and then carefully drill out and use pit filler when it arrives.

Just make sure when you go back to clean the pit first, it may look clean but try a drop of resin. It will help to get any thing left in the pit, to make sure the pit filler will get a good bond

The amount of people I sell to who do not carry a spare bottle of resin and only order the day they run out is mind blowing, so you are not alone in this. Personally I carry at least 2 of each thing as spares in a separate box, this includes resins, polishes, cleaners, lights, bridges, drills, burs, batteries, mirrors etc. The joys of being in a very low overhead business I suppose.

When I get down to my last 2 bottles I order. It takes a week to get my supplies on the east coast from Eugene. Screeman is correct. I know people that wait to the last minute, for almost everything. I told a guy yesterday that he was going to be late for his own funeral. Saint Peter would be at the Perlie Gate calling for him and God speaks out and tells him, dont worry, he'll be a few minutes late. Have a great week. I have heavy rain today and mid 30's.

USMC68 and mattcurtiss are correct in what they are telling you. You admittedly named this thread a rookie mistake, so you don't anybody to point out your mistake, now do you?

Hey DB, that reminds me of an old song by Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen.

That was funny. That sounds alot like my brother. He quit smoking for a week using the patch method. After that he went back to smoking a pack a day to help the patch work better. At least he is not smoking 2-3 packs per day prior to the patch. I enjoyed that clip. Have a good week.

I have a suggestion that may help. There has been a lot of discussion about air bubbles in the pit resin. I started noticing that I got fewer bubbles in the pit resin with a full bottle than when the bottle was getting towards empty. I'm not sure why, maybe less air drawn back in to the bottle? Anyway, I started refilling my pit resin bottle from my spare bottle every few days and noticed less air in the pit resin and now I know when it's time to re-order when my spare bottle is empty and I never run out. Hope this helps.

I always have 2 bottles of pit fill in my box and alternate these on a daily basis.
