I Left the house at around noon on Wednesday and decided to try the "Coit method" (You like the name Dave?) of WSR marketing. Drove over to and industrialpark about 10 minuted from my house and found a long row of businesses. Parked my car at the very end of the lot and started walking and looking until I found the first chip. Walked inside the business the vehicle was parked in front of and asked if they knew who the chipped car belonged too. I took 4 no's and then it happened. At about 1pm I did my first job. That job turned into 3 more when the nice lady I was doing the job for went and got me the keys to 2 of her co-workers cars and then magically one more set of keys showed up while I was doing them. I have 2 more jobs booked for tomorrow from this stop. I proceeded to the next set of offices and before I left there had done 3 more for a total of 7 jobs in 2 hours and 45 minutes. That's $280.00. You know making $100.00 dollars and hour is not a bad hourly wage! Today was more of the same done the exact same way in the same industrial park and I havent even gotten off the first street inside it yet. I did 5 jobs for $215 in around 4 hours. I know, only $53.00 an hour. It was terrible. I'm not sure if I can survive on such paultry wages.
If you aren't going after the chips and waiting for the phone to ring. I can't say this any other way "YOU"RE NUTS". Find the chip, walk in, ask for the business and tell the client what you can do for them. Don't balk if they don't want to go through insurance. SOme of these jobs were cash and cash is GOOD!
I called Coit on my way home tonight to thank him. I would like to thank everyone here for providing me with the information I needed in order to make one of the most difficult decissions I have ever had to make. I jumped, started a business and now I can honestly see it completely changing my life.
Sincerely, Thank You All!
