I just read a post I think it was StarQuest mentioned buffing out scratches on side windows. What is it that you guys are using that will buff tempered glass I didn't think it could be done. I have this polishing tool that I have never used (was my brothers) I think he paid like $1,500.00 for it?? He told me it takes to dam long I never even checked myself I'm I missing the boat. I know it works just never wasted anytime with it. All I know is it has a big yellow box a couple of buckets with stuff in it a bunch of hoses maybe I should see how it works. However no instructions anybody have a clue what it is I

If it was a $1500 glass buffing unit, chances are it's a "Scratch Hog" I won't plug the company because I need to respect Delta Kits. However if you use your search engine using those words you'll locate a free PDR users manual online. Takes a little practice and patience to use it effectively. It was an easy transition for me cause I had 15 years in auto detailing buffing paint finishes. Best way to start is get a few scuffed up door glasses from the junk yard and try it out.

I thought thats what it was just never really checked into it. I might just sell the dam thing Iduno have to see how it works I guess, from what I here there real messy and take for ever to get out scratches. It's been sitting for a couple years now I guess it's time to look at it

Take a look at it and see if you have all the pads. If so you can put it on ebay for about $450-$600 and will probably get some good hits. Might help pay for a few more bridge set ups through Delta.

Truthfully, I only use mine when I know I'll make at least $80 an hour. It's just a add on when business is slow or getting involved with some classics where the glass replacement isn't available. If you have a busy WSR schedule stick with the repairs. Much easier

It sounds to me like the Autostock system, not the scratch hog. The Autostock is a slurry mix system that circulates the slurry to the tool and back to the bucket. I have never used one, but "buckets and hoses" sounds like this system. It's been around a long time and I think it works ok, but it's a lot to set up, etc. It should be better for cleanup than other "spray and splatter" systems like I have.

I just saw a post on another forum asking for one of these. IF that's what you have...

The Scratch hog is just a polisher with colored "plastic" polish disks, and uses either a spray bottle or hudson sprayer for water supply.

Anyway, as for polishing side windows in general, it's definitely possible, and not much different than w/s. But only if the scratches are a small area... not all over the window. Unless it's just marks from using a soda can as an ice scraper. These come out in just a few seconds.
