Windshield Repair Forum

21st Century Ins Co now requires that a vehicle
inspection be done BEFORE the windshield is repaired. DO NOT do the repair
until after 21st Century inspects the vehicle. The insured will have to
make an appointment to come back to the shop after 21st Century does the
inspection. If the work is done before that, the insured will have to pay
out of pocket.

The following Insurance Companies NEVER waive deductibles. If your customer
has one of these Insurance Companies, DON"T CALL ACT, just work out a cash
deal. FARMERS Insurance will waive deductibles only under certain limits by
state, see state list at bottom.

Even BEFORE the network days, State Farm (not on the list) required prior inspection before a repair or replacement. (Allstate didn't.)

A prudent policy if you ask me and even if I'm not asked.

I can't tell you how many invoices were submitted during those days to insurance companies where NO repair or replacement was accomplished whatsoever.

Or how many invoices are submitted for replacement TODAY that could have and should have been merely repaired.

Let's all view this as a positive aside from the idea of waiving deductibles.

Sooner or later and rather than just raising rates, insurance companies will refer damage to qualified repair TECHNICIANS first and foremost before relying on replacement shops to determine which is necessary.

When the dummy, be-fogged actuaries figure that one out, the first thing they will do is dump replacement-oriented networks and substitute some resident of Delhi, India in an Eastern boiler room to handle their customer claims.

And those claims will then be referred to us first before being filtered through our competition.

How many times have any of us performed excellent repairs on a windshield when the customer was told it required a replacement?

Great post, I just want to let everyone know that their are lots of companies that don't cover windshield repair, thank God that I almost never ever run accross them. If I talk to 1,000 people and ask them who their insurance company is I would say less then 10 times I would get a responce from someone who has an insurance company that doesn't cover windshield repair. I won't get discouraged though, even some of those companies that don't cover it now will cover it within a year.
