I am getting ready to letter my suburban and I am planning on putting " FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR" in big red letters in my layout. I am just wondering if this will give off a negative vibe to potential customers.
I've been around the business world long enough to know when it says free, there is alway's a catch. This is just my impression when I see somthing that says free.
I guess my question is: do you feel that this will give off a fly by night perception of my business? and make it look less professional?

BTW HIPP is my last name, and I don't try to be cocky with my screen name it's just somthing I've used for many years, and it sounds cool.

Hello
just do as I do and put a star above the end of free windscreen repair, and put "ask technician for details" in small letters underneath. This covers you legally and will not put off customers.

Howdy Hipp

As a fellow Nebraskan, I too, was concerned how people might view this, I live in a small farming community just south of Omaha. I personally think that having a big FREE sign on the side of your vehicle is a must !!! You will be questioned on this by people who are unaware of why it is free. Educate them. But, make sure you can do this very smoothly. I tell them "No, I don't offer free repairs.... Your INSURANCE COMPANY offers free repairs" THEY do this to entice you to fix that chip so THEY don't have to buy you an expensive replacement windshield.

I would like to thank Eric from optic-kleer for his advice and ideas on corporate image. 8) I don't believe that it looks "tacky or unethical" to have a FREE sign on a vehicle as long as you are projecting the proper image. Without the proper image..... you'll look like " POSSUM LODGE WINDSHIELD REPAIR" and people will naturally question your integrity. Large fortune 500 companies constantly use the word "FREE" in their advertising because it attracts attention and it works. Good luck- Bob

Mark,
[ quote="Mark"]I wanted to have the above quote in a quote box, just don't know how to do that, so I colored it red. I did not want to be accused of
plagiarism

[ /quote]
Just remove the space between the [ & quote} and again on the [ & /quote]
