Has anyone tried setting up a booth at state or local fairs? If so, anyone have any success? A buddy of mine in the WS repair business is looking into renting a booth at a large state or county fair, conducting demonstrations, and hopefully setting up appointments for the following week. Just thought I would see if anyone here has tried this strategy.
Thanks,
Marty

Re: State and local fairs
In the days of when we could do "free" WSR over here I did have a stall in the car park of this type of event, it did work. Personally though I prefer to go get my work and not wait for it to come to me, fleets all the way for this old boy.

Did you do repairs during the fair or did you schedule repairs for another date? I have looked into fleet work a little bit, but I only do WS repair as a part time business and haven't had the time to market myself during business hours because I work a full time job during the day. The few times I have inquired with companies about servicing their fleets, I was told they are contracted with Safelite through their HQs, and Safelite is only charging $30 or so per repair. I'm sure they make their money back on replacements though.

I did them there and then, I do not and have not for a long time chased around after retail, it is too expensive or me to do.
