I have spent a good deal of time thinking and reading about referrals (finders fee). It seems like a very good idea to "outsource" some of your selling to your customers.
I have had a problem with the idea of cash. If someone gives you five bucks, it goes in your wallet and forgotten about. Until you go to the gas station or whatever else you might need. I don't see how people will THINK about the fact they earned this from the incredibly positive experience they had getting their windshield repaired.
So lets say you give out movie passes for referrals. The customer has a positive experience getting their repair done for about 30 mins. They then explain to their spouse/friend how they got the free tickets.... More positive exposure. Then they get to go see a movie for 1.5 hours which came from getting their windshield repaired. So, what if the movie is a dud...Well at least it's still positive to the customer because they did not pay eight bucks to see it...
Hopefully this will be a good cause to keep our business cards handy. For each referral they can get a movie ticket...
This whole idea revolves around lengthening the positive experience for the customer. I believe, if we can do this, we can gain not only more repeat business but more "word of mouth" business.
AMC offers tickets in bulk for 5.50 min. of 50. This is a little too much for me to put out to test with. WHY AMC....They have a ton of theaters in the DFW area.
I was wondering if there is anyone who might be interested in giving this a try with me? I am just looking to split this with a few people if possible...Obviously, if I give out all the tickets I have, then it's a success and will gladly shell out $250 to get $2250+ back....
Maybe someone has already tried this and it did not work out, please let me know....
