Need Help w/liability insurance.
First, Hello everyone. I bought my Delta Kit about a month ago and have been lurking off and on since. I have tried to get liability insurance with a few companies and they all said that their underwritiers would not insure me because I have not be doing this was a new venture. How can I get insured?
Thanks inadvance,

Well, you're making up for lost time, A.S.T.
Two posts on the same subject.
Welcome.
Lurking is good. Gives one an opportunity to find the answers before posting a question.
Have you tried RLI?
What kind of liability are you looking for?
Do you feel you really need it at this point?
If you can be more specific, many of us should be able to STEER you in the right direction.

The type of of liabilty would be, I guess General liabilty.
I have two auto dealers that I do repair work for and they said no big deal, but I would like to start doing insurance claims.
I really want to know want I need to do to get set up to bill insurance companies.
Any help would be great.
Thanks again, A.S.T

With ref to the above ,When I first started in the windshield buisness I was coverd for $500.00, check with your car dealers and fleet accounts and ask them the minnium liability required .The insurance company I use is the HARTFORD I pay about $400.00 per year for 1millionn and I also have another waiver on my equipment incase it gets stolen-- Let me know if you need more information
Hello A.S.T. - Welcome to the forum if you've read some past posts, you will notice that you have quite a bit of home work to do before you are up and running. If you are going to be affiliated with the networks and get on a preffered repairers list with some of the insurance companies, you will need a general business liability policy. This is a requirement when signing on with Lynx/ SGC/State Farm/Allstate. I'm not sure about A.C.T. I checked around and couldn't beat RLI . I had a hard time getting one of their agents to return my online requests, so I called and asked for the name of an agency that sells policys in my state. Used American Express prop and casualty co. bought over the phone-cost $176 yr. for my area. If you are mobile only this should be the only type of ins. you need. Requirement is $ 500,000. This policy basically covers bodily injury and property damage to 3rd parties. Kinda cheap, if you go to move the customers car to a shady area , and back into a kid on a tricycle. Consider this as kind of an umbrella policy. Keep reading the posts and archieves , you should find all your answers to future questions.

A.S.T,
Not a dumb question at all.
RLI is simply a general liability provider that has actually been able to classify windshield repair, and not lump us in with replacement.
Here's a link to a post where we talk about RLI:
