Proposed Standards For Windshield Repair

The National Glass Association (NGA) and the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) have announced a partnership in which the two associations will cooperate in pursuing an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard for windshield repair. At present, NWRA publishes and distributes its own "Recommended Practice for Windshield Repair." The decision to begin the ANSI application process was made at a special meeting of the NWRA Board of Directors in Orlando, Florida, on January 17, 2004.

The NGA is an ANSI recognized standard developer. While the NWRA referenced most ANSI procedures in developing its original "Recommended Practice" for windshield repair, that recommended practice was not submitted for ANSI consideration within the required time frame.
