Crack expander
Anyone use a crack expander to fill in a star break that has long legs( like 1.5 inch legs) that seem to long for just the tool? Thanks

I tried one 25 years or more ago, I have not used one since.

Re: Crack expander
Shouldn't need to use crack expander unless the crack leg is tight. Carefully flex/put pressure on crack watching the resin flow to crack tip.

Re: Crack expander
It does of course matter if the leg is surface or sub surface, pressing on a surface crack will often close it up, whilst subsurface will open it.

Re: Crack expander
Is there any information on at what length a crack changes from sub-surface to a surface crack?
