Re: Extremely small chips
Oh, and your repair attempt did absolutely no harm, imo. It's only a surface pit... worst case is it would need cleaned/scuffed first.
Re: Extremely small chips
Sorry, I miss understood. They are telling you correct. It's a surface chip.
I read it was the size of a piece of rice and shined. It sounded like a small crack.
Again........ get a tech to look at it for 1/2 price and you go to him.

Look guys,
Nothing against Dazco but what I've gathered from reading his post so far is he want's to fix this himself instead of simply calling a WSR tech. Nothing wrong with DIY but sometimes you just end up wasting time and money.
In order for him to succeed in this process and be happy he'll need the following.
1) Glass drill bit (to rough up or deepen the pit for better adhesion)
2) Resin (you'll need the acid bonding or cap will just fall out within days)
3) Pit filler & polish
4) cover strip
5) UV lamp for curing
6) Razor Blade
7) Polishing dremel (for best finished results)
Total dollar cost? Not sure.... but I do know it will be alot more than just having someone else do it!!!
Not trying to be a smart guy, just my professional opinion:-)
