Advertising that works
Advertising that works
Last month I bought 300 nice ink pens for around $100. My sister, who is a server at a nice restaurant here in town, loved the pens and just had to have some of them because a good pen to her is like a good injector to us. Well, I gave her a handful and told her to pass a couple along to her co-workers and do a little promoting along with them, and I would give her 5 bucks for every job I got from her, not expecting much really. Well, it wasn

Excellent idea! I'm actually a waiter, at least untill my business takes off anyway. I'll have to get pens and pass 'em on. Any other good advertising techniques?
Re: Advertising that works
I have been considering this for about 6 months now. Glad to hear it is working for you. Did you know most businesses and institutions will NOT pay for 1 stinkin pen for an employee?? Including the government. This leaves a door wide open for advertising and good circulation considering how many are stolen on a continuous basis. The last time I ordered a bunch of pens for my last place of work was $300 from Pens.com Clicker types are more but worth it. Waaay to go!

Anybody that is considering doing this a good place to check on prices is:
http://www.orderpens.com
I've been getting pens from them on and off for about 3 years and they have very good prices. I also ordered calendars from them last year as they had the best price and the lowest minimum order. Plus they will send you a free pen about once a month with your imprint on it as an incentive to get you to buy. Usually they are nicer pens than I'm willing to buy a bunch of.

We use to hand out pens for another business we had, when we use to do Sport Shows. What we would also do is always have pens with us, and just leave them places. Like at the bank, we would just leave it on the counter after filling out a slip. Or on a table at a restaurant after signing the charge slip. Use to wonder about all those pens and where they are now!

We have been doing this for about 4 years now. You get a really good deal if you order online at orderpens.com. Buy so many and get so many free. We even bought some really good metal pens once and everyone loved them but the shipping ate us up. Beware of the type you order-plastic is cheaper to ship. We now have the hiking caribeneers and they like them for their keys. They are in assorted colors and are anadized aluminum. This really is a way to get the word out if you get some pens they like. And we also get the free samples monthly. Pens, calculators, calenders, magnets, date books, etc.
