Rain-X

Post by Evergreen »

Hi, I had someone stop today to ask about repair of her 3 chips in her windshield. She did not have time to have me do them so she will be back tomorrow.

Right before she left she informed me that she had just applied Rain-X yesterday. Here is the question.

How to proceed with a fresh application of Rain-X?

I was thinking about trying to flush it out with denatured alcohol and then drying that out before trying to fill with resin. Is that the correct way?

Thanks!

My personal experiance is to physically abrade the surface with your windshield drill. Rain X can also be removed with a solution that removes siicone(RX is basically 95% silicone and 5% alcohool). Hope this helps.
