As i've tried to point out there is a certification for WSR through NGA/ NWRA check out the poll i posted asking how many people have taken the time to get certified. It at least shows folks that you have basic competencey. (but it still doesn't help my spelling) Ruffburrrepare-brise wrote:I never thought of using super glue, I use masking tape instead, it sticks long enough for my 30/30 warrenty(30 feet or 30 seconds which ever comes first). But Seriosly I have had customers ask me if there windshield will come back down after the repair(I use one of those plastic bubbles for a UV shield). I have also had customers tell me that the other guys use a lighter to "melt" the glass back into a whole(and yes they meant a BIC lighter, not the mini torches that we use)
Unfortunatly it seams that for every good WSR tech there are 2 bad ones, WE NEED A CERTIFICATION OR LICENCING PROGRAM FOR WSR TECHS.

I may have been mis understood, I meant a mandatory certification, like for auto mechanics, plumbers ect. Yes the NGA has a certification but its volentary.

It sounds good on paper but has no practical merit other than to allow the government to get more of your money.
Re: One of my Competitors
I think that's what they were trying to do last year in Connecticut. If you look through the archives, you'll find it for those of you that don't remember.

I'm with mafsu. If we had mandatory certification, the government would take over our busniess. That's one of the best things about WSR. The fact that you can make pretty good money and not have to go to college for several years. I beleive a well educated public is the key. I also run into alot of people that are convinced WSR is a scam. They can't accept the fact that an insurance company would rather pay $50. for a repair than several hundred for a new windshield.

That amazes me about WSR scams. Who on earth put that kind of mis-information in those peoples head? More than likely the $10.00 WSR guys?
