For you that wonder if cold calls work here is an example
Today I didnt get started till noon (had a physical dude! you wanna do what?) It was a nice sunny day only 25f(about as cold as the docs finger) but sunny and we havnt had many nice days this winter so I figured I better get a little work done. I went to a little industrial park wandered the lot of a building supply company found 5 cars with chips in the employee lot and went inside. Gave the guy inside my sales pitch and he helped me find the owners of the cars (one was his) 3 bit 2 were insurance 1 $40 cash 1 was $89 ins and the other $50 so I figure it was a good stop while working on the lot a customer with a pickup and snowplow stops and ask me if I have time to go around the corner to his warehouse and look at his company trucks(the guys in the supply store had sold him for me) The truck he was driving had 3 chips I agreed to meet him after I finished where I was at. I get to his buildng to find 5 trucks one with a big crack (beyond repair)
and the others 2 had 3 chips and the other 2 each had 1 he informed me that his company had glass coverage so I called them in his ins pays $69/15/15 I do the repairs and get ready to leave its about 2:30 and ive made $520 in 2 1/2 hrs so i figure call it a day about then my cell rings its the guy from the first stop one of his guys changed his mind and could I come back and fix it? sure I get there and do another $40 cash the boss comes out and asked do i ever get to st albans? I tell him I live near there and drive through it on the way home. I agree to stop off and fix the 2 in his motorhome for $80 and the one in his wifes car for $40 Im home by 5pm and have mad over $680
The moral of the story sure sometimes people tell you no but keep on asking because you never know when you will hit the repair lotto. earlier in the week I did over $400 at a plumbing supply warehouse the work is there just ask for it.

Sounds like you had a great day !!! I hope it makes up for what the doctor did to you :eusa_naug . I had a simular experiance today...although not nearly on the scale you did.
I was doing some visits around town trying to pick up a fleet account or two. I stopped in a used furniture store after lunch and I saw a car on the side of the building ( Employee parking area). When I went in and gave my pitch ..turns out it was the store owners car. She wanted it fixed and loved the result so she called her husband and mother. All three turned out to be insurance jobs. Also made an appt. for tomrrow morning to fix her sons car !!!
Now what I haven't told you is the only reason I stopped there was because I had to PEE.
. I would have never thought to stop there looking for work but now I won't overlook the "mom and pop" places ever again !!! In fact I may start looking for them more.
Like I said it doesn't compaire to your day but it sure made mine.

Congrats
Like glassstarz it was a beutifull day, and I was able to do some repairs that I had put off due to weather, One was an older gentleman(you know the type, 75 years old, Linclon Towncar, well dressed, told it couldn't be repaired by a glass shop(2 in his case), I proceeded top fix his nickle sized bull's eye, and when he saw the results, he asked if I could stick around for a few miniuts more, that he just had to show(brag to) his neighbor(who also said it was too big to repair). When all was said and done I had completed 4 repairs, including a 48" crack, and gained a seasoned, now experianced sales force(who knew resin was compatible with blue haired passengers). Just goes to show when the sun is shining(and we need some) everybody is happy.
I hope everyone here experianced a great day like the 3 of us so-far.
Merci

Just a little addition as Ii was finishing up the prevoius post, My computer decided(it's on random) to play a song that goes well with this thread, Here comes the sun, From the Beatles. Could this be a sign?
Those of us over a certain age can certainly congure up good memories of warmer times with this tune....
Enjoy

Back when I was doing fleets I would have a day like this about at least once a month but normally 2 or 3 times .. they are few and far between but when they hit man you feel good at night.
