What are you all using to block UV light besides UV shield?
Re: What are you all using to block UV light besides UV shield?
I use a 16x16 microfiber towel and tuck it under the leveling screws so it dont blow away.
Re: What are you all using to block UV light besides UV shield?
A few questions to the towel users, how do you keep it from blowing off the shied, doesn't the darkness amke the break harder to see? I use the bubble shields communly available. They afford me a few percieved advantages over towels(but I am ready to adapt) marketing- customers are intreaged by the bubble and cross the parking to see what I am doing, Weather protection- In a light rain or snow the seal around the bubble allows me to do a repair (unfortunatly it only protects the injector and not the tech, unless I have my second bubble on the head, which garners even more attention). The towels of course have a cost and portabilty advantage.

I have used a baseball cap it works better that a RAG... We are professionals why use a RAG.... they will blow away and a hat will just hang on and look better with your logo on it.

Yvan,
I've really had my eye on buying one of those UV domes, mainly because I wanted to have the ability to continue work in light rain conditions. Fortunately, we've had a very dry April here in Michigan (14 days...all sunshine and mid 50-60's)
Sorry to rub that in Screenman;) It's really ideal repair conditions right now for any WSR tech and just continues..... By writing this I'm sure I just jinxed myself and will experience 14 days of straight rain in May. I should probably order one now just in case! Being that this dome is so big, I also thought about incorporating a few small speakers with a IPOD feed. What do you think Jeff? Any patents on this yet?
Have fun guys....and make some money!!!!

SQ
You would need a reverb control, sound gets distorted inside the dome. And for us older people on the forum, you could play secret agent with one, pretending to be Maxwell Smart in the cone of silence.
Keep on WSR'n

I like Skippy (smooth not chunky) blocks UV real good.

I only said "red" shop rags cause that's what I've always called em. Any color will work of course. To keep them from blowing away I tuck them under the corners of the bridge.
