Repair a repair?

Post by LISlacker »

I tool a rock chip to be repaired (a basic star-pattern) and the "repair" looks awful. They didn't charge me for it, but big deal. Any remedies available?

LISlacker,

Where are you located? Not familiar with the term "tool a rock chip" Guess I need to get out more;) Anyway, sounds like you had something repaired your not happy with. Maybe you can help us understand better by describing the before and after results of this experience in more detail. Was the company you had do the repair a reputable one for your area? Did it appear that any part of the damge was filled? Not sure anybody on this forum can tell you if it's re-repairable or not without seeing it in person.

Sorry

That would be "took", not tool.

The company was SafeLite, so they are certainly well-known if not reputable.

Is there a way to post pictures on here? Its pretty hard to describe.

LISlacker,

The moderator on this forum can post pictures but not sure he can provide this with your particular situation. Might get him in trouble. When you mentioned the word "Safelite" I'll also have to bite my lip on this one! I suggest you call a repair only professional in your area to see if they can help. Just being curious but what did they tell you when repair failed?

Safelite sucks that's why you had trouble with the repair.

Like to see the pics LISlacker, :) The safelite bungler strikes again!! Oh and if you have them (safelite) replace the shield they'll get paid twice!!!!! Out of their own pocket!!! ?Will that raise my rates? :eusa_thin
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.
