I'm with Starquest on this one.

Believe in your product, do a quality repair with excellent service and professionalism and it will sell itself.

People are generally quite discerning about quality product and service. Think about it, if you see quality product and service, you don't need to be sold, you're already sold!!

I've seen lots of "super" salesman come and go in a wide range of industries. I believe that where your heart is will determine your outcome. If you're just in something to turn a quick buck, but don't believe in your product or service, you'll eventually become burned out, disillusioned, unsatisfied and looking for greener pastures elsewhere.

We have always maintained that excellent service & quality are key to success.
Example: As I've mentioned in other posts we have the luxury of servicing approx. 100 or so car dealerships. and car rental agencies. All of them know that if we are asked to hunt down some vehicle that was sold, with stone damage in the windshield, that vehicle's windshield will be repaired by us without fail. Often times the same day or within 24 hours. We really do "get the monkey off their back".

Sales abilty may be able to get you to the next level, but if your repairs are bad, it will eventually catch up to you.

Quality work has to be the most important, especially if you want to be around long term.

I also think this may depend on whether you are in a large city or a small town. Large cities have enough people that if you are a great salesman, you may be able to last for a long time even if your repairs are crappy. The same cannot be said for a small town. If you get a bad rep in a small town, you are done.
