Old Damage?
Old Damage?
I did 4 chips today 3 batwings and 1 bullseye. I noticed a ring around the bullseye (I know what caused this) and also small cracks close to the center of the bullseye after I cured. Two of the batwings turned out ok, but at the right angle you could still see cracks. They both had black prior to filling and I got all the air out, but the cracks did not disapear. The third batwing completly disapeared. When I talked with the owner he stated that the bullseye was around two years old and that the big batwing was at least 5 years old. Would the age of the chips cause the repairs to turn out like they did or was it just me.
Re: Old Damage?
Just a quick question zlm us, ive done a few repairs and noticed a ring around the damage. When it is cured it seems to have a circle around the repair what is the ring from?

Ive done that too, I caused it by using too much pressure, trying to fill legs.

Re: Old Damage?
A bull rarely needs the drill and then only to rough up the damaged area and open the break. A bull is like a funnel not really the big pocket it looks like. When you drill to the laminate you pressure resin into it rusulting in a funky ring or cloudy spot. bulls dont need much pressure just a little time combined with the no drill method you will find the daisy ring will stop showing up on bulleyes.
