Re: Need resin
Hey Willem, I live in Washington State! On the west coast
. In this area it rains alot but for now it is nice. The weather man says it will be nice this week and if he is wrong again we are all going to drive down to Seattle and run our bb breakers all over his shield!!! (The weatherman NEVER get's it right around here.) Sounds like a very nice place to live or vacation. I would like to see a lion up close (well not ooo close) and the exchange rate make's it sound so tempting, I hope you are doing well with your new business in the cold. I prefer cooler weather to work in as you will find hot weather repairs are a different animal all together!! Stay warm and practice, practice, practice, and then SELL, SELL, SELL. Oh and Magnabond for an excellent chioce of acid free resin, and allways use a good quality pitfiller. Good luck, Scott

My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

Hope your weatherman gets it right this time!!!
Luckly we get our rain in the summer, so verry good time presently to repair shields.
Do you have a shop where you work from ?, do you visit spesific customers, and do you stand next to busy roads? Where do you pick up the most bussiness?
Well thanks for your reply, you are on my buddy list and I appreciate your
advice. As a novice in this bussiness it realy helps to get info from the Pro's!!!

Re: Need resin
We always complain about the weatherman here!! If a person wants to know what the weather holds it is always doing what you see when you poke your head out the door in the morning and is subject to change at any time.
(The best way to get a local weather report in this area!!) Our service is mobile and we occasionally use a tent set up. I was doing vinyl repair for a long time prior to adding the WSR into what we do so I had a few accts prior to set up with the WSR thing. I am looking forward to streamlining into WSR strictly but I rely on the folks I currently do business with so it may be a while before I can get away from the Vinyl, Leather and Plastic work. It is a good money maker too but the inventory is huge comparatively and the chems are also an issue.(exposure=BAD) We also do a lot of business to business or Coitstering is a good search term to use here on the forum as Dave Coitster has the distinction of being called the master of this technique. There are I'm sure allot of other folks here on the forum that are equally able to sell this way but Dave was very vocal about this method and having practiced at it for a dozen or more years is truly an expert at it!! The technique is simple ask for work from the individual who owns the vehicle which you have already found damage on and if you ask in the correct ways you will get allot of yes's. Some folks on this forum claim a high rate of yes's so I SUGGEST YOU LOOK AT WHAT THEIR PITCH IS AND IMMULATE THAT AND THEN HONE YOUR SKILLS AND VOILA make a decent living!!
Good luck with your adventure, Scott
