Pit Filler gets white

Post by belize »

Hi WSR friends,

Thanks for the advise on dust in the cracks I really appreciate your comments. I'll try to do anything to try to solve this problem, pressure washer, steam, etc. I have another little problem. After I cure and polish the pit filler it gets white after it drys. Is this normal? Is there another way for the pit filler to look like the glass? Please advise!

Thanks GlassStarz but I use the pit filler from GT Glass. I'm sure it is a good one. However, it get whiteish after I scrape off the excess. Who sells pit filler that doesn't get white?

thats the look of scraped filler just polish it or put a very small drop of resin on it to get the glass look also are you back scraping or just running the razor blade along?

Sometimes I find on hot days the resin is a bit softer and easier to scratch. You should make sure you have a good clean razor any little minuet flaw in a blade will cause all kinds of grief. You must be sure to let the resin cure 100% a good 3 to 5 minutes. Uncured resin will turn white.

Happy Repairing

GlassStarz, I always hold the blad 90 to the widow and go back and forth. Does back scraping work better? Ill have to try that. Also I like the tip about a small drop of resin over the pit filler. Ill try that also. I could see that working great on a large ugly pit.

Thats what I call back scraping you actualy scrape while going forward as well but the lions share is done while pulling back.
I like the drop method alot I got it from a LR video the trick is learning to get a small enough drop
