The A.C.T program...

Post by glassdude »

I notice that Delta Kits has an ACT program for billing insurance companies. Is this the same as Liquid Resins. How much of a cut do they want? Pros/Cons?
Thanks,
-Jeff

Same program, but it's actually $12.95 now, not $14.95...

That's cool.
How much are we able to charge? I'll do repairs for State Farm through Lynx. I'm able to charge $50. for the first repair but lynx takes $7.50 of that. The same $50 charge through ACT will net me $37.05. However, I can see being able to potentially do more repairs with the "free" angle.

How can I get more information about this ACT program?
Thanks,
-Jeff

My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.

I just downloaded the .PDF file but it says that the fee is $14.95. It doesn't mention $12.95. How can I be sure they'll only deduct $12.95?

Thanks,
-Jeff

Because I promise they only deduct $12.95...:)

I know, I know, that's not good enough for some people. ACT has told us it's now only $12.95, but haven't given us the updated contract yet...

Anyway, if they charge you $14.95, i'll reimburse you $2, plus another $0.50 for your trouble...(After I yell at ACT). :)

Seriously though, it's $12.95, despite what paperwork says.

From the beginning, when ACT first came onto the scene, I have not understood the logic of paying $14.95 (now $12.95) per invoice. If you are charging $59.95 and have to pay $12.95 for the processing, that's 22% of what you charged for the repair! Almost 1/4 of your money being paid to process the paperwork.
I know, some here say that it's well worth the extra money because you are not wasting time on the phone or doing paperwork. Maybe so, but I do not find myself with any extra phone time or paperwork using another EDI billing company at $2.25 per invoice.
If you are doing $10k insurance work thru ACT, are you paying almost $2200 for processing? That's a huge chunk of profit.
Can someone explain to me their logic for spending 22% for processing, other than the theory that phone time and paperwork are much less.
I am not flamming ACT, just trying to understand the reasoning.

Well, for one, the networks require that you've been in business 1 year...How's that?
