Michigan licensing?

Post by tooldini »

I can't seem to get an answer on whether or not I need a license for mobile windshield repair. From what I get on searches and phone calls I don't need one for a service in michigan. I am refinancing my home and they want me to show if needed proof that I have or don't need a license. Any one from Michigan that can help me?

thanks
Jeff

Call the local municipality - specifically the business licensing section (or standards and licensing) and ask them whether you need a business licence for this service. Alternatively you can look up the business licensing ordinance which will specify (in the Schedules attached within the ordinance, in the body of the ordinance or also in the term references at the beginning of it) whether the trade requires a licence. Check out their website too, search business licence. In the event that you do not require a licence, get a written letter from the relevant section saying that, as evidence to whoever wants it.

Some jurisdictions require a licence, others don't. Hope this helps.
