ok bear with me . i know many members here have built very successful businesses, found out what works in advertising, what doesn't, where to spend money and when to keep the purse strings tightened. now hypothetically let's say you are placed in a new area. you have a basic repair kit, an unlettered vehicle, $1,500.00 cash to spend soley on business. (phone and place to live are a given). where do you spend your money and time to stretch the most out of your funds?

im sorry if this sounds a bit immature but i feel that with the amount of incite in this forum many of you will know exactly where you would start building your businesses again if need be. and maybe i might glean a little more direction to make my own endeavors successful.

There is no better way than face to face introduce yourself to every possible customer and leave your card I dont spend on advertising the return is not as good as I would like. Spend your money on some nice signs for your vehicle and a kazillion buisness cards

Good question, unfortunatly your hypothetical question is a reality for many a new tech. For what it's worth I would have some cards made, simple lettering for the vehicule,cell phone, a few nice lettered shirts, and dress pants(professional image goes a long way) save the rest for paying the bills until the money stars rolling in.

I agree with Yvan. Good kit, training, vehicle signs, training, business cards, training, uniform, practice, gasoline for getting out there and get customers.

Dale is correct I negated to specify training, if it,s not included with your kit, it,s the best nvestment you could make, also if you can find a tech to ride with a few days, it's also a confidence booster, and it should only cost you some gas and a few lunches(depending on the establishment mabey a little more gas). By the did we forget to mention training?

i can always count on you guys. i really appreciate you all taking the time to reply. unfortunately that IS going to be my situation although i have quite a bit of experience i truly believe factory training is the best option. ive been factory trained in other areas of auto glass so you would think it would be first on my list.

anyway for what is't worth truly thank you guys so much for the advice.
