Just for fun, I went to google.com and just above the search box I clicked "Groups" then entered "windshield repair", then clicked search.

What I found was a lot of people having conversions in posts about windshield repair (of which the majority of these people had no idea what they were talking about). Alot of people had no idea that rock-chips could be repaired. Some people that knew they could be repaired were advising others that if the rock chip had any tiny cracks emitting from it, that it could not be repaired.

There were a lot of posts with people asking others if they had ever tried the DIY repair kits found in auto parts stores. And it was no surprise to me when after reading more and more that pretty much everyone who said they tried the product said that it didn't work at all.

Fellow repair techs...
We all have a lot of work to do in educating the public about windshield repair.
