Ok, I got the kit...
Ok, I got the kit...
Now for a few questions.
I purchased the double bridge kit.
There's 2 bridges to facilitate doing "2" repairs at once right?
So why don't they throw in a second mirror?
Is the scribe supposed to have a dull point on the end about 1/8"wide?
But I digress...
Are we able to post pictures on this forum? I'm wondering what I can do differently to help "fill" the chips to a higher quality repair-and it's hard to explain without pictures. I am mostly getting a little half moon-closer to a 1/4 moon in the repairs. Wondering what I could try differently.

Re: Ok, I got the kit...
First thing call your kit manufacturor for tech support, second the scribe has been discussed in the past and you are not alone, unsrew the litle collar close to the tip, take out the pointer and turn it around(pointy side out), and reassemble). As for the mirror I have never used on, it's personal preferance, if you need a second one they are cheap. For your repairs, don't expect perfection on the first try, get some practice glass(or better yet a car) and have at it. While you are on the phone for tech help, book yourself into a training session, it's a wise investment.

I hate to say this...in fact, it hurts...
I...agree...with...repare-brise!
Spanky, definitely call for tech support. It's free, and we can get down to the bottom of the problems you're having.

Jeff
There a first for everything, and now you know that your fear was worse than reality(like your first time you were nervous, your friends were all talking about it, but you didn't know what to expect. When you finaly did it you realised what you had been missing, the joy, the freedom, the rush of energy.... So just like riding your bike without training wheels for the first time(what, you were thinking of another first time, shame on you, this is a family accesable forum), being in agreement with someone can be a good thing once you get over your aprehensions).
Enjoy

Well,thanks for the replies,guys.
After posting I was reading archives and realized the scribe correction-being so common you would think a small piece of paper notifying the customer what to do would save a lot of trouble...hmmm.
And as for the mirror... You don't use it-how are you able to see the damage under the injector?
Delta seems to want their customer to use it while using their bridge system, so it only makes sense to me that there should be 1 mirror for 1 bridge. What do I know-I'm just a dent guy!

Re: Ok, I got the kit...
Just in case this helps you until you get another mirror... the mirror is not permanent once you attach it to the inside of the windshield. You could move it if you really need to see another area of damage.
Ok, that's it for the tips for today. There will be a charge for any others within the next 24 hours...

Well, I guess by common, I mean if anyone ever has a problem with the scribe, that's the problem. Does it mean most people have that problem? No, probably twice a year we have that question asked. Most people call for tech support, which again, I highly recommend!spanky wrote:Well, thanks for the replies, guys.

Most people simply don't find two mirrors necessary, and if they do, they're about $6 or so.spanky wrote:And as for the mirror... You don't use it-how are you able to see the damage under the injector?

Instead of a mirror I poke my head into the car and look at the dammage from inside, works well, and with the help of an LED flashlight I get too see more detail.

Re: Ok, I got the kit...
K I gotta chime in here!!! I use mirrors to monitor progress or the lack there of, it saves time, allows for a faster set up time, (alignment) and is a very good tool to use in a unstable damage repair situation!! I rarely use them in my fleet work but nearly always in retail!! Final viewing is done from inside then out following bridge removal etc... Minimum 2 mirrors in a kit!!! Oh and flashlight and magnifying glass are a must too... JMO
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!
