Re: The bottom line for '05
Come on guys ...Lets see some more year end figures and hear some stories (hopefully all good) about how you veteran guys have made out this year. I'm looking forward to the good news you techs have to share.
Re: The bottom line for '05
OK folks, Lets get some round figures on what we made last year.
Nothing too personal. I'll Start it.
Working full time for only 3 months i was in the 0-5 thousand dollar range. The rest of the year was extremly part time, two to five repairs a month ,( I got a new job) so that money was for gas and beer, some of it was done for free for friends. In summary I did pretty good when i applied my self.
OK please just give us a range of your profits last year.
0-5 thousand
6-10 thousand
11-20 thousand
21-30 thousand
31-40 thousand
41-50 thousand
over 51 thousand.
I hope using ranges isnt too personal, I would just like to get an average of the overall industry.

I personally can't share with you what I made because I started my business in the fall & winter months for the sole reason of being ready to go in the spring, I hope it goes well for me this spring and summer since it's the first business I have owned, I don't know how long it will take for me to get established.

Re: The bottom line for '05
Not something I would usually post on a forum, but what the hay......last years gross for me was also over the 51k level. I have no employees, cover only a 20 mile radius, don't work on weekends and average 27 hours per week! The down side......no longer have children to take as dependants (both are adults and no longer live at home) and self-employment tax hit me hard this year. Gotta find more tax breaks!!

Go out and drive your vehicle around - Uncle Sam pays about 11 cents a mile at tax time.

J.T.
It's a lot more than 11 cents a mile. I think it's around 37.5 cents! I don't do my taxes, so that's an educated guess according to what was used for my vehicle as an expense.
