Clearview, worry less about cracking out the windshield and pay more attention to detecting moisture in the break. We're supposed to have rain tonight as well as the fire engines are washed down multiple times a day.

Clarity Glass that is is very good point. I would suggest they dry out dry out and dry out more before you start filling. Any moisture left in no matter how slight will completely ruin any chances of a succesful repair. Moisture is the biggest enemy of windshield repair. It is also the one point people fail to recognise the most. A lot of times when a repair will not fill is due mostly to moisture left in.

Flex the glass around the break and watch for movement inside. Practice drying a chip with either a drystar if you have one, or a torch and you'll get the hang of it.

FYI too much heat = damage to the lami (whiting) and or crackout... Just go slow untill you get the hang of it!!
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.
