Re: electronic dispatching?
If you're signed up with the eDG service, Lynx dispatches come electronically.
I'm not sure if there are other ways though.

Jeff,, I am not sure about eDG services but I thought I was signed up with everything I could. Just seems like I just started getting some jobs in by phone and fax then Allstate says I would better my chances if I could receive dispatches electronically. So I figured I would need some software and then would end up paying lynxservices and a EDI company or something like that. Thanks I will look into it

Camaroon I live in Lasalle MI. its about 45 minutes south of you. I only get a few jobs thru lynx a month if I am lucky,, but in the last two weeks I got 3 all from allstate. Then they tell me I would get more if I could receive dispatched jobs electronically. First you will get a call from lynxservices that they have a customer with damage. Then they put on the customer for you to talk with and make arrangements for the repair. You do the repair and fax and invoice to lynxservices. A couple weeks later you get a check
. You could get a nice amount of jobs in your area, but there has to be plenty of repair techs in your area competing. Hope that helped at least a little bit

Re: electronic dispatching?
Tooldini,
I can not add any factual insight to the EDI side of Lynx dispatching, although I would imagine you would just need to pick an EDI provider like eDirect and make necessary changes to Lynx/Metryx profile. I would call there claims department for the most accurate information though. Definately seems like the way to go if have the volume to offset the costs.
On a side note... we use the prehistoric method of phone/fax and I must say I am quite surprised at the number of refferals that Lynx is sending our way. Just yesterday, I recieved 3 calls for repairs. On average so far we get 3-5 a week just from Lynx. We have only been signed up approx 2 months so it is still to early to tell if it will stay constant. I never expected any calls from any of the networks. I just planned on using it as a marketing tool so I am pleased with Lynx so far. If it stays constant I will have to go EDI as well.
FYI...I have heard from a reliable source that the method used by Lynx to send refferals is pretty fair compared to other networks. Lynx has a rotation list and when a client calls in, if they have no shop preference, they are given the names of 3 shops in the area and they choose one. I imagine since they are not familiar with any of the shops they only have a name to go on so if your name stands out you probably will get more calls than say "Joe Shmoes WSR". Then, whether you are selected or not all 3 shops go back down to the bottom of the rotation list.
I have noticed are payments take about 3 weeks as well. Contract pricing is not that great for sure especially after you take out the processing fee and costs of being mobile. At least for us anyway. You will not get rich from relying on network refferals alone but combined with a diversafied marketing/sales program it all can add up.

eDG (eDirectGlass) is a service we provide that allows you to bill Lynx & Safelite electronically. Once you've informed Lynx that you're set up through eDG, they will then start forwarding claims to you electronically, through your eDG account.
What we're seeing, and this is by no means guaranteed, is that people who are signed up to receive referrals electronically (through eDG) tend to get more referrals than those who receive them by fax. We've had people who received 1-2 per week via fax sign up with eDG and start getting 4-5 per week. We've also had customers who had never received a referral start to receive them weekly. I'm not willing to say it's a guaranteed benefit to signing up with our program, but it's worth a shot I think. Especially when Allstate is basically telling you the same thing.

When you do sign up with Lynx make sure your metryx info is all correct. Last month I averaged approx 3 calls a week from lynx.

Re: electronic dispatching?
SGT it would be nice if we got that many job referrals but I am lucky to get 2 calls a month normally. I have been signed up for a while. I expanded my area and that helped but then I am told if I could receive jobs electronically I would get more. They seem to feel there are many errors with fax and phone calls, although we haven't had any LOL Seems funny I get so few calls when there are not even 10 glass repair techs in my area of 150,000+ poplulation. I was thinking EDI may help me out some.
