Beware of dirty customer tactics

Post by scratchy »

About once a year I find a customer who tries to pull a fast one and make off with a free repair. Here is the latest tactic for your protection.
We got a call to do a chip and that he wanted to put it through safeco. Everything went by the book with a satisfied customer and two hours later he calls back and said he wants to void the claim. I said sure we will void it out if he is not happy with the job. 30 minutes later we show up to retrieve the reciept. After some discussion and voiding out the invoice on the customers copy as well as ours, we figured out he was going to use the reciept to submit for reimbursement directly to the agent after stiffing us for payment.

Are you saying that Safelite is not going to pay you? If so, I'd be on the phone demanding payment. The 2nd chip 2 days later should not void your work.

No kidding! If you fix a windshield and the next day they wreck the car does that mean safelite doesn't have to pay you?

LOL, no we never got paid.... But after some time and work it was not worth the effort. Sometimes, you have to just let it go. If its not worth your time move on. Time is money. Whats 50.00$ retail?? A few cents? Just smile.... Customer service is key. My opinion. Dawn:tongue:
