pricing question
pricing question
Does anybody price their repairs at 39.95 or 49.95 etc... instead of an even 40 or 50? Do you think it helps?
Re: pricing question
That's a great question. One reason businesses offer services at $xx.95 or $xx.99 is because the figure is supposed to look lower. While people are aware of this stratedgy, I don't know how effective it really is. However, when somebody charges me an even $20 or $40, etc., I feel that this amount has just been taken out of a hat. When a dollar amount is at an even number, even when it is a standard or printed price, I feel like the guy is telling me "welllll...how does 40 bucks sound?" Advertising your cost at $xx.95 or $xx.99 gives more professionalism to your service. Just make sure that you have nickels or pennies for change.
