Business Automobile question

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and soon to be starting my new career over here in the NY/Ct. areas.

My question is, while in the beginning when i just start out, do you think its ok to use my personal vehicle, which is a really clean, nice looking BMW sedan, to go to my jobsites? I will be placing 2 professionally designed magnetic door signs on both sides of my vehicle. Do you think this looks un-professional?

I really cant afford to invest right now at the moment on a seperate work vehicle, hopefully as my business progressively grows i will be able to purchase a company work truck to use just for business.

I had the same question when I first started, I have a Honda Accord and I wondered if it would look unprofessional, up to this point no one asks me about the car or the magnetic signs, as long as you come out of your vehicle with a professional look, company golf style shirt, clean pants...well you know the deal, everyone is mostly interested in the work itself, I do plan to upgrade to an SUV(4 cylinder) in the future, but not worried about it right now.

Still gathering all the details on the business. Looking mostly to service the westchester county area, im located in hartsdale,ny. Im near white plains,ny so i figured it would be good to include the servicing of lower fairfield county customers in my client base, but i'd prefer to just stay in the westchester county area. I have a few friends that i can network thru in auto bodies and dealerships in this area.

Im traveling to Las Vegas to take the Glass Mechanix course the 2nd week of June. I would love to supplement my income doing glass repair part-time, and hopefully be able to leave the medical field by developing this as a full-time business.

By the way i used to own a Tanning salon (Salon Del Sol), in E. Norwalk from 2000-2004, ever heard of it? Fairfield Ct. is a pretty good area to do business, but i'd prefer to stay in my home town area this time around.

make sure to check connecticut laws on glass work. from what i understand they are pretty stringent.

I may just stay localized in the NY area to keep things more simple from a legal aspect. By the way this brings up another question, since i'll be a mobile company, wouldnt it be irrelevant with regards to the differences in Ct. and NY laws? Lets say the customer is a Ct. resident with Ct. licensed vehicle, but i perform the work on say, his wrk premises which is in NY, wouldnt that not make a difference?

Or am i relegated to the laws pertaining to where the owner of the vehicle is insured?
As a NY licensed repair business, does that mean i can only repair NY licensed vehicles??
Or if the vehicle is licensed out of NY state but the repair is performed in my NY work setting, then is the repair legally valid???

i don't think it should matter where the vehicle is from it matters where you do the repair. i do out of state vehicles all the time. i'd check with the connecticut attorney generals office though to make sure your t's are crossed and your I's are dotted.
