ACT Users

Post by Coitster »

Hey everyone,
Ok I have a quick question for you all. I have noticed all the threads on this forum about the ACT system for billing insurance companies and doing work. I know they used to charge like 15 bucks per invoice which I used to think was crazy. Especialy when you can get yourself on the insurance list and then only pay a few bucks for each claim for processing.

For those of you that use ACT, how many jobs do you use from steering, by the networks?

Do you call the claim in or do you call ACT and then they handle the call for you?

Are you being paid in a timely manner?

How much does ACT charge you?

If you do the calling yourself do they give you the anti-steering script.

Dave I am a little confused at what your asking. Maybe I am reading something wrong, but I used ACT when I first got started and will attemped to explain my experience.

First let me say that I think the people over at ACT (Liquid Resins) are a great bunch. They were always friendly and helpful. I had mixed feelings about changing to another company because they were so great to deal with, but it came down to a business decision that only made since for the good and welfare of my company.

ACT has several plans available. You can call then and they handle everything for 12.95 or you can make the initial call to the insurance company, get your dispatch number and then turn it over to them for 5.95. Also they don't advertise it much but they do have EDI service available where you submit it online with no follow-up for 2.95 and 1 follow-up for 3.95.

I started out on the 12.95 plan and after I got over the initial not knowing what I was doing stage, I quickly moved to the 5.95 plan. Once I was a bit more confident and understood the process better I moved to the 2.95 plan.

Never once did I have any opposition from ACT and they was always willing to help me meet my needs.

I might mention that for someone starting out, they also take care of all the hassle of signing you up for lynks and safelite. ACT is great for someone who is starting out in the business. They can really give you a jump start with respects to insurance billing and network sign up. If your doing less than 8 insurance jobs a month then their service is great.

They pay the same or maybe a few days later than the networks pay. From what I seen was they submit your work EDI and over the SGC website, they receive your money in the same time as if you submitted it yourself but it takes them a day or two too turn that money around and submit it to your bank account. I think they only submit 2 days a week. Maybe TUE and FRI's. If they receive your payment on WED they send it to you on FRI and you get it the following MON or TUE so it actually delays you from getting paid 2-5 days which is not really a big issue for me.

I have never experienced problems with steering (Knock on wood) as of yet so I can't speak to any of that.
