Car Policy Endorsement 6127
Summary:
All glass-only claims occurring on or after June 1, 2006, in your state will be subject to the terms and provisions provided in the new State Farm(r) Car Policy, Endorsement 6127.
This means effective June 1, 2006 in your state, State Farm's Car Policy will provide payment for eligible policyholder windshield repairs if the cost of repair exceeds the policyholder's deductible. As provided in the O&A Agreement, State Farm will pay the glass service provider the cost of repair agreed to in the O&A Agreement, less the policyholder's deductible, and the glass service provider is to collect the amount of the deductible from our policyholder.
Details:
* The language that is being eliminated under the Car Policy for windshield repair is: "If we offer to pay for repair
of damaged windshield glass instead of replacement of the windshield and you agree to have such repair made, we will
pay the full cost of repairing the windshield glass regardless of your deductible."
* State Farm continues to value windshield repair as an option, as stated in the O&A Agreement.
* Lynx Services(r) will continue to dispatch claims and identify the applicable deductible amount. The Lynx dispatch fax
or communication will have the appropriate deductible amount for any given repair or replacement.
PLEASE REVIEW: There has been some confusion regarding the waiver of a deductible when a windshield is repaired on a glass-only claim. With the State Farm policy changes in Endorsement 6127, deductibles will no longer be waived by State Farm when a windshield is repaired for a State Farm insured and the glass service provider will need to collect the deductible from the State Farm policyholder. There is no policy change affecting windshield replacement. The O&A Agreement continues to provide that the glass service provider collect the deductible from the State Farm policyholder on replacements. The O&A Agreement also now provides that should an O&A participant shop waive a deductible when replacing a windshield for an insured, it is a violation of the O&A agreement and grounds for review and removal of that glass service provider from the program in all states.

Do not know if it is related..........but we had a State Farm claim come through LYNX last week. They had us on the phone and advised that we needed to collect the deductible. We advised that we were just repairing, not replacing. They said yes we understand but the customer's deductible is NOT waived...........We advised the customer to get ahold of their agent meanwhile they paid us cash.......she was a little upset.
Re: State Farm Policy Endorsement 6127
Hey DingMedic, are you already setup with Lynx for State Farm? If not, you will need to collect the payment from the policy holder and then the policy holder will get a check from State Farm. This is how it works if you are not already setup. Once you are setup, there is not a problem. As far as I know, only Arizona has the non-waiver currently if effect. June 1st will include Colorado, Rhode Island, Virginia and New Jersey, making a total of 5 states. NV is not included.

Actually, in addition to the 4 new states, the policy has started in the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

Re: State Farm Policy Endorsement 6127
We were in the first of the affected States to have the waiver end, and have found the following; any damage that occurred prior to the change is covered, deductible waiver was in place when damage occurred. The folks who have 0 deductible also are covered. The rest can use their receipt as proof of payment toward their deductible for one year should they have another claim during that period. Etc...

I can't believe you didn't list that Louisiana as one of the first test states.
Re: State Farm Policy Endorsement 6127
Unlike health insurance, automobile policies are based per incident. A payment made for a windshield repair today would not go towards the detuctible for any future claims.

I was reiterating the policy changes per their language tullioz. You'll need to read it for yourself. I would post a link but I am sure that if you are interested you can find it with a simple search. I believe it refers to glass only damage.

I haven't received any confirmation that LA is one of them. If you have a letter such as this, feel free to post.souchie wrote:I can't believe you didn't list that Louisiana as one of the first test states.
