I'd like to know any tricks or ideas that y'all may have when repairing a break in the tinted area of a WS (e.g. the top 5") for making sure all the air is out of the break. I'm talking about dark tints where a mirror won't work. I had such a break the other day which did not turn out good because I could not tell if all the air was out of the break. I looked from the outside and inside and nothing was visible before I cured. [Of course, the vehicle was a Ford F150 and the break was above the mirror. I had to use a stool.]

Use your vision the best you can until you think it is full, then leave the injection on pressure , whilst you go and have a coffee or something, its amazing what a little more time can do to a repair. Of course you must have made sure the chip was dry before you started the repair.

you could also use a small light to better illuminate the break, also some companies make a tinted resin, could that have helped?

I agree with screenman, depending on the repair, maybe use a little more resin in the injector, no need for the mirror since it will only give it a darker appearance, make sure you use the uv shield, proceed with 2 or three cycles of pressure and vacuum, on the last cycle of pressure pull the uv shield off press down on the injector if you haven't done so, and read the latest FHM magazine, you will never know it was there. keep up the good work

On these I tell the customer:
"Because the break is in the tint - the bad news is that I can't see all the tiny bubbles, the good news is you can't either."
Keep'em smiling, hey?
