Proper mounting of B300

Post by ChipRite »

Hi,
I have just started using my new B300 Delta bridge, but I am experiencing blowouts if I follow the instruction manual exactly. This is how I read it:
"Screw injector down until the end seal makes contact with the glass and then give one more 360 degree turn"
"Screw the leveling screws down until the rubber tip makes contact with the glass, then continue untill all three points of the bridge assembly are an equal distance from the glass. (Do not overtighten)"
The way I understand this is that once the bridge has been fastened and the center knob tight, I turn the injector in untill it just touches the glass, then another full turn, which should slightly tilt the assembly back to the levelling screws? Now I turn both levelling screws down untill their rubber tips just touch the glass. I now assume that any further turning of the levelling screws will increase the pressure on the tip as the assembly is forced back?
Now here is my question how much? I can see the rubber tip has nicely bonded to the glass, same as my older other make of injector, but when i put pressure on it leaks and I have to give it another turn. My guess is that the levelling screws need to be tightened more, but how much?
Can anyone advise.
Thanks

Tech support line - 1.800.548.8332

The critical thing is that the bridge is level. All three points parallel with the glass.

I would recommend 1/2 to 3/4 turns only on the front first, followed by leveling with the back.

Also, make sure your cup is seated properly all the way around. The cup should be flat until the noticeable line where it starts going up. That make sense?

If not, call for tech support, it's much quicker :)

The injector needs to be at a 90 degree angle from the glass. If you feel your leveling screws are causing too much pressure on the injector, back off on the injector slightly.

Jeff,
Thanks, if I understand you correctly this means that the back levelling screws will actually have a bit of pressure on the glass as it has to force the assembly back to level out the one or half turn on the injector?
Or is the rigidity of the injector and the vacuum cup enough to actually maintain enough pressure on the tip with a half turn and the levelling screws do not add any pressure?
I just need to understand the design concept here then I will be able to test it.
Thanks

Back leveling screws will have pressure, yes (approximately two full turns).
