Single or Double?

Post by pbaker »

So I am going to order a windshield crack repair kit on monday and was just wondering which kit to get (single/double). I know how a double bridge kit will save time and let you do two repairs at a time along with making crack repairs a little quicker, but what is your input on this? My main business will be from fleet accounts so my thinking was that it would be nice to be able to do two at a time, but How often do you REALLY use both bridges?

5 minimum on fleets I used 7 on one shield today, 10 chips on a 99 F-150. I told the guy it made me proud to work on a shield that said ford right on it!! Most guys would have said "replacement" but I got a customer who will return for sure from this experience!!! He sent his son in 3 hours later with a new Benz with one chip, total for today 6 claims that averaged 65:00 and 235.00 cash!! That on a Sunday from 10:30 am till 7:00 pm, I had to take my signs down so I could leave!!! You cannot be over prepared!!
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.

The more the better if you can afford it. 3 chips will take you about 30 minutes compared to over an hour with just one bridge. You'll definately need them eventually. I have 2 and want more, more, more... :)
