Alright, so my plan for business is to service windshield repair to as many fleets that I can to keep bussy. My question is: what exactly is a "fleet account"? Is it what it sounds like it is? Is it official? or is it somthing else? Please give me the rundown on them. ...sorry for such a newbie question again:eusa_eh:.
Also, for all you who do fleets for business, what are some good pointers and suggestions that you all have learned from in the past? Any info on this subject is great! I plan to go out and learn in two weeks! and Im sure just going out and learning is the best way to figure this stuff out but the info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Fleet Acounts
Re: Fleet Acounts
A fleet is one or more vehicles. Your local dry cleaners may have one vehicle. Your local trucking company may have a thousand. There is no difference. You may be able to command a higher price from the smaller fleets. I suppose you could even say the average family has a fleet, since the average family now owns about 3 cars.

Locally, try utility companies (electric, gas, cable, telephone), funeral homes, furniture warehouses, small trucking cos., school buses, fire & police, taxi cabs, etc.

You're right, cold calling is a great way to break yourself in as a salesman. Remember, first appearances are critical. Smile, speak firmly but friendly, be the expert but not the know-it-all. Customers often need less information than we (as newbies) are eager to throw at them. Mostly, the customer wants to like you and you should make it easy for them. Be observant of your surroundings when you are in their office. They may have a similar interest to yours (custom cars, for instance) and when you see the picture of their cool ride, mention it. Don't forget that you are there to sell your service, not to talk all day about customer cars.
